PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The building that houses the primary school G. Marconi dates to 1979 – 1980, with a project by the Eng. Nizzi Grifi.
The building, located in the municipality of Bagno a Ripoli, in Grassina, falls in seismic zone 3.
Regarding the structural level, the school is built with a reinforced concrete frame and can be divided into three distinct buildings, called Lotto I, Lotto II and Lotto III.
The first two lots are used for educational purposes and the third one for gym. The three buildings are connected to each other by a seismic joint. The vulnerability verifications were carried out checking the three structures separately. Results shown a good behaviour of the building to static actions, while there are not deficiencies of importance from the seismic point of view.
