PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The secondary school is made using a reinforced concrete frame structure, built in the year 1970. The building can be divided into two separate blocks, one used mainly for teaching purposes and the other one for gym. Between two blocks there is a seismic connection joint. Vulnerability verifications are carried out on the entire structure using Tecnisoft’s “Modest” calculation software. Once given the geometry of the building, a linear dynamic analysis is chosen to calculate the risk indexes required by the standard. This kind of analysis has highlighted some shortages, mainly from a seismic point of view, which can be remedied with interventions to strengthen the most vulnerable structural elements.
