Project Description
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
During the period 1995 – 2018, consolidation works were carried out on the slope, predominantly made of rocks, that houses the Sanctuary of La Verna. The interventions developed along these years, in collaboration with the GEO-ECO studio in Florence, have been aimed at recovering the static nature of some portions of the slope, especially along the path that bring from the Birds’ Chapel to the Sanctuary. In addition to these interventions, works were designed and directed for the protection and safeguarding of the historical-architectural heritage of the Sanctuary, in particular, interventions were made to restore the colonnade of the “Corridor of the Stigmata” and the portal of the “Sasso Spicco” and the straight walls near the access to the Sanctuary. Architectural design and safety coordination were carried out for these interventions.
